Come to the Equal Adventure Festival 2011!

Date: Friday, 26th August to Sunday, 28th August 2011

Venue: Glenmore Lodge National Outdoor Training Centre

Address: Glenmore Lodge, Glenmore, Aviemore, PH22 1QU

The Equal Adventure Festival is an opportunity for both individuals and teams to participate in a range of outdoor activities regardless of disability. It provides a chance for participants to learn new skills, improve existing skills, meet new people and build team spirit.

This is a truly accessible event, which aims to celebrate, promote and develop the application of inclusive adventure.

2011 brings the third Festival, with feedback from the previous two and original new ideas creating even more adventure and fun, whether you are an experienced adventurer or a first timer.

It takes place in the beauty of the forests and lochs of the Cairngorms National Park, in and around Glenmore Lodge. Water and land based activities will include:

  • climbing
  • canoeing
  • orienteering
  • Nordic Track
  • 'off the beaten track' challenges
  • problem solving challenges
  • inspirational opening lecture and evening entertainment.

Fully accessible equipment will be provided for all activities.

Four people per team (including at least one disabled person).

Accessible accommodation is available at Glenmore Lodge.

On your marks, get set with your team members now, and get ready to go!

The Friday Evenning Talk:

Felicity Aston recounts her experiences leading the Kaspersky Lab Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition which involved a team of 8 women from Ghana, Jamaica, Brunei, Cyprus, India, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK skiing 900km from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole. The expedition took place at the end of 2009 and the women involved became either the first person or the first woman from their respective country to ski to the South Pole.

Whoever you are, we at Equal Adventure will support the cause of inclusion for outdoor activities.
